IS YOUR PET OVERWEIGHT?

According to a 2009 study, 45 percent of dogs and 58 percent of cats in the United States are overweight or obese. That's an estimated 35 million dogs and 54 million cats!

Learn how YOU can reduce pet obesity!

How can I tell if my pet is overweight? Body Condition Scores.

What food should I feed my pet to reduce weight?

Purina Veterinary Diets OM (Overweight Management) has created an excellent diet to help dogs and cats reduce weight safely.

OM is a high protein, low carbohydrate diet that promotes healthy weight loss. The high protein helps your pet feel "fuller" preventing the "begging" that often sabotages diets.

Our goal is to help out patient’s loose weight slowly and effectively. Leaner pets live longer, and your best friend is very important to us!

Both dogs and cats have been entered into the program, and teams have been determined! Weight Coaches Whitney, Sabrina and Becca have developed nutritional and exercise activities for each team. Each participant will be evaluated every 2 weeks for progress, making changes where needed to help our patients succeed!

Owners will attend nutritional lectures twice monthly, ensuring a complete understanding of the role nutrition plays in our best friends lives. “Walks in the Park” have been scheduled for Saturday mornings, and will include trails developed for Las Cruces Prescription Trails.

Pets loosing the largest percentage of weight will be awarded prizes at weigh in’s; a grand prize will be awarded on graduation day, Saturday April ,14 2012.
